On 02 June 2012, it was inaugurated in Peshkopia, the Daily Centre for the Third Age, a project of the Foundation for Development, Humanism and Democracy, funded with a grant by the ASCS.
This project, carried out also with the support of Municipality of the City, establishes for the first time, not only in Peshkopia, but also across the north east region of our country, the establishment of a Daily Center for the Third Age, with all the necessary conditions to pass their time in a cultural, entertaining, recreational and informational way.
Invited by the organizers, the Executive Director of ASCS, Mr. Rudi Bobrati and the Specialist at the Sector of the Administration of the Programs of Grants and Regional Development, Mr. Kastriot Tota, were present in the inauguration of the Center.
After the opening speech of the Mayor of the Municipality of the city, Mr. Ilir Krosi, it was Mr. Bobrati who took his word pointing out the values of the project and emphasizing that the town of Peshkopia deserved such a center. Mr. Bobrati invited the civil society of the region to take part by submitting other projects in the next Call of the ASCS, with the aim of being funded, since, as he pointed out, the comprehensive development of the north east area of the country, generally, and the continuous growth and consolidation of civil society, in particular, take an important place in the development program of Berisha Government.
The representatives of the pensioners of Peshkopa town, expressed their gratitude for the establishment of this Center, which, as they stressed, best meets their needs.
