Meeting with the High Representative of the United States Embassy in Tirana

Tirana, July 16, 2012

Following the meetings the Agency for the Support of the Civil Society (ASCS) is realizing with the international partners, today our Executive Director Mr. Rudi Bobrati met the High Representative of the United States Embassy in Tirana, namely the Head of the Economic Political Section of the Embassy, Ms. Jenifer Moore.

The Executive Director Mr. Bobrati informed Ms. Moore about the achievements and challenges the Agency is facing and also about the projects that are being implemented, the promotion and strengthening of the Agency and Civil Society in general. Mr. Bobrati thanked the U.S. representative for the help and support of the specific programs that are being implemented by USAID and contractors, in regard to civil society and welcomed the readiness that are showing these programs to strengthen and support the third sector.

In his exposure, the Executive Director Mr. Bobrati pointed out that the ASCS is already restarting a new phase of communication and cooperation with CSOs. The Agency is currently taking care to present, in a suitable manner, these intensive activities to those being interested as well as to the general public.

Ms. Moore welcomed this initiative and considered public communication as very essential and necessary, expressing also the readiness of such Department of the U.S. Embassy to provide support, either directly or through current programs that are being implemented by the U.S. Government.
