Meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana Mr. Bojan Bertoncelj

Today morning, the Agency for the Support of the Civil Society (ASCS) realized the next planned meeting, between the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana Mr. Bojan Bertoncelj and the Executive Director of ASCS, Mr. Rudi Bobrati.
At this meeting, the Executive Director Mr. Bobrati informed Mr. Ambassador about the progress and challenges this institution is facing to the support of the civil society in Albania. Mr. Bobrati underlined that the institution he is managing, is currently monitoring the winning projects of the third Call, and is preparing for the next Call.
Alongside management and monitoring of projects being implemented by NGOs, the Agency is working with different cooperators, different international organizations, in order to create more cooperation bridges with the Civil Society, NGOs both in urban areas, and especially those in the most remote rural ones.
To fulfill this target, preparations have already been concluded to start in autumn with the trainings on improving and increasing the capacities of NGOs, focusing on rural areas, aiming better quality of their applications in the next Call.
Also, topics of discussions for which the Ambassador Bertoncelj expressed readiness to assist the ASCS, depending on the specification that the circumstances may require, were voluntarism and philanthropy. They were considered as two areas for which it is necessary to provide an incentive for the Albanian Civil Society, in order to explore much more about these two important topics which have their direct influence in the empowerment of the civil society in open democratic societies.
