Launched: Observatory for Regional Cooperation in the Western Balkans - "ORI"

Agency for the Support of Civil Society in collaboration with the Cooperation & Development Institute and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung organized today, on 6 March 2015, in Tirana Times Library, a meeting to launch the Observatory for Regional Cooperation in the Western Balkans - "ORI".
ORI - is a database of 446 regional and cross-border projects, where participate the Albanian institutions and organizations, which are completed with research, analysis and reports that address regional integration in the Western Balkans.
In this meeting, there were present a large number of participants. They were welcomed by Mr. Ilir Ciko, representative of the Cooperation & Development Institute.
The meeting was addressed by Mr. Frank HANTKE, Director of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung - Tirana Office, who spoke on the topic "Berlin Process and Regional Cooperation in Western Balkans'', Mrs. Erisa XHIXHO, Deputy Minister of European Integration, spoke on the topic "Regional cooperation: a key objective of the EU integration strategy of Albanian Government", Mr. Andi Kananaj, Executive Director of the Agency for the Support of Civil Society, who presented the topic "Albanian Civil Society as a competent and strategic partner in accession negotiations", Mr. Ardian Hackaj, Shtetiweb portal Director, Cooperation & Development Institute who introduced "ORI: Empirical data at the service of national and regional cooperation policies".
During the meeting, there were also exchange of views on: "South-East Europe 2020: boosting the integration process of Western Balkans in the European Union" with key actor such as Mr. Yngve Engstroem, representative of the European Union Delegation in Albania, Mr. Nand Shani, Senior Expert, Regional Cooperation Council, Sarajevo, Ms. Fabiola Duro, International Relations Director, Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Tirana, and Mrs. Leila HADZIC, Executive Director, Cultural Heritage without Borders, Tirana Office.
At the end of the meeting Mr. Ilir Ciko, representatives of the Cooperation & Development Institute made the summary of conclusions and defined further steps to be followed in the future.
