Consultative meeting in Shkodra about the final Draft-Law "On the creation and functioning of the National Council for Civil Society"

Shkodra was the next destination for the process of consultation with civil society organizations in 12 regions of Albania to discuss the final Draft-Law "On the creation and functioning of the National Council for Civil Society".
The meeting was held at "Arka" cultural center and was started with the presentation of the Draft – Law by the representative of the National Youth Service, who explained in general terms the goals, principles and standards for the functioning of the National Council for Civil Society (NCCS).
The representative of “DEP” organization wanted to know whether the Draft-Law on the creation and functioning of NCCS was based on any international practices. The representative of ASCS brought as an example the Croatian practice, specifically the well functioning of a similar Council in Croatia.
The participants in the meeting said that they had not received the Draft-Law electronically and therefore they were not aware of it. They expressed the desire to have a second meeting where they will have the opportunity to give their recommendations on the Draft - Law.
ASCS representative, Mrs. Çorbaxhi explained that the Draft-Law is published on the official website of the ASCS and anyone can access it.
The representative of the National Youth Service, Mr. Loka suggested to the participating organizations to send their recommendations in writing, in a document, maximum one A4 page. They should send them to the addresses of the representatives of the Ministry and ASCS. In this way the recommendations will be more concrete.
